About Talk Dollars With Sense and Inger Johnson
Hi, I’m Inger Johnson, the host of ”Lets Talk Dollars with Sense”.
I am a professional speaker and educator in the financial “smarts” arena and am deeply passionate about providing helpful financial information to my audience. I take a practical, down-to-earth approach to personal finance that bridges the gap for students and their families about how the “financial real world” truly operates around them. My solid 17+ yr background and foundation in the finance field includes a Masters of Business Administration from Arizona State University and a Masters of International Management from the American Graduate School of International Business (aka Thunderbird) and having my own business in personal financial planning. Using all my finance background, I founded “Let’s Talk Dollars With Sense”, a company designed to encourage, educate and equip parents of tweens, teens, young adults just entering the job market to talk to their children about making responsible, well-informed personal financial decisions and how to avoid common financial pitfalls and obstacles that prevent people from prospering in the long run.
I am proud to offer my listeners the end result of a dream and hard work. I am committed to this endeavor and know that you will not only enjoy this program; but will find it’s in depth information to be of the highest quality by any standard.
Thank you for becoming part of the show and I welcome your comments and questions any time. Email me at Inger@talkdollarswithsense.com.
Another one of my passions is to protect tweens from cyber-predators, cyber bullying, and sexting; which have become prevalent with the advent of social media. Ask me how!
Financial “smarts” is a subject that is near and dear to my heart. Leaving home, I was bombarded with credit cards the minute I went through the registration lines at college. I had never balanced a check book. I was fortunate in that I did not go overboard with my credit cards. However, many of my friends had tons of credit card debt and student loans before they knew it and no savings. My friends and I didn’t know how to read a pay check and had less of an idea on how to budget income and expenses.
When I had my own business, I realized that very few people (including highly paid professionals) have the knowledge to make sound financial decisions. In addition, it is maddening that so many people have been taken advantage of by unscrupulous financial sales people. This is not right!
I know that the basic financial information that you need to make it through life can be learned in your high school years or shortly thereafter. This information will give you the basics and a good foundation to build on.
